Mark David Rowland, 66, of South Chesterfield, Virginia gained his wings on August 16, 2026. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Weeks and brother, Scott Rowland.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, who served as his loving and dedicated caretakers, Bonita and Mike Abernathy, nephew, Michael Abernathy, wife Kathryn, and their two children, Avery and Ayden, nephew, Kenneth Rowland and wife Samantha, and their two children, Josie and Addy.

Mark enjoyed 30 years with Southside Shelter Workshop. He loved bowling, dancing, and watching movies. He enjoyed music and pizza parties with friends and his community. His love for music carried on in other parts of his life, enjoying his guitar and cowboy attire. He was no stranger to anyone – always having a smile on his face and keeping others smiling with his witty humor and silly antics.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial donation to be made in Mark’s honor to the Virginia Down's Syndrome Association.
