Martha Tillie Kaleyta Ailstock went to be with her Lord on September 15, 2026. She was born on September 25, 1926 in Prince George County, Virginia.

After graduating from high school, Martha worked first at Camp Lee and then Hercules until she married. After years as a stay-at-home Mom, Martha returned to work at Fort Lee. There she worked in the Finance and Accounting offices for 25 years until her retirement.

Martha was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She dearly loved her family and friends. Martha was an excellent cook specializing in wonderful desserts, especially her white cakes, cookies and Christmas strudels.

Martha was a lifelong Lutheran, attending St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Prince George as a child and it was there, she was married. She raised her family at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Hopewell. She remained a faithful member of this church the rest of her life.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Melvin Ailstock; her grandson Marc Ailstock; her parents, Martin Kaleyta and Marianna Borkowska Kaleyta; her sister, Ruth Kaleyta Roberts, her brothers: John Kaleyta, Adam Kaleyta, Adolf Kaleyta, Alfred Kaleyta and Albert Kaleyta.

Martha is survived by her sons, Alan Ailstock (Sherry) and Stanley Ailstock (Karen); grandchildren, Anne Lester (Keith), Miles Ailstock (Bailey) and Megan Ailstock and granddaughter-in-law Vickie Ailstock; step grandchildren, Nealan Chandler (Susie), Todd Chandler (Katie) and Aaron Chandler; 11 great-grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren and one step great-great grandson. Also, numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff of Petersburg Home for Ladies. During her four years there, Martha consistently received exceptional and compassionate care from its staff.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026 in Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, S. Prince George, Virginia 23805.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Petersburg Home for Ladies Fellowship Fund.
