Mary Wells Driver

Mary Wells Driver, 85, of McKenney, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Born in Virginia on May 6, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Clinton Y. Wells and Bertha A. Wells. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, John Gilbert Driver, Jr., and her brother, Franklin Wells.

Mary was very devoted towards her Faith and loved the Lord immensely. She was a longtime member of Weber Memorial Baptist Church in Chesterfield, VA. She also worked as an insurance underwriter for Harleysville Insurance Company in Richmond, VA for many years.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah O’Shea (Robert) and Katherine D. Moore (David); five grandchildren, John Babcock, Christopher Babcock, Patrick O’Shea, Jennifer Moore, and Rebecca Easter; four great-grandchildren, Sean Babcock, Matthew Babcock, Kaylee Easter, and Andrew Easter; one brother, Clinton Y. Wells, Jr.; and five nieces.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Greensville Memorial Cemetery, 1250 Skippers Road, Emporia, VA 23847.
