Matthew Allan Devine

Matthew Allan Devine 16, of Colonial Heights, passed away unexpectedly April 6, 2024. Matthew was born in Virginia on July 23, 2007. He was preceded in passing by his great-grandparents, Irma, and William Devine, Lonzi, and Leona Arrington; great-uncle, Gary Arrington; and great-aunt, Zona Miller.

Matthew worked at K&L BBQ for a time, but he truly loved fishing, riding his four-wheeler, and his dirt bike. He had a great love of being outdoors and being with his friends. He was a member of Beacon Hill church where his mother currently also attends.

Matthew is survived by his loving mother, Ashley Devine (Step-dad Big Jason); his biological father, Thomas Devine; his brothers, Shane Tyler Moore, Justin Devine, and Jason Devine; his grandparents, Dave and Bonnie Dunnavant, Patrick and Gail Devine, Cindy and Tommy Devine; as well as “Destrie”; his aunts and uncles, Gaevin Dunnavant, Jill Devine, Shari Devine (Justin); and his cousins, Paisley, CJ, Breanna, Mason, Tristan, Liam, Izzy, and Brooklynn; as well as many life-long friends who will hold his memories close to their hearts.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at the funeral home.
