Melissa Dawn Womack

October 3, 1982 — July 26, 2025

Chesterfield

Melissa Dawn Womack, 42, of Chesterfield Va., went to be with our heavenly Father on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Born October 3, 1982; and was the daughter of Vivian E. Womack and the late Joseph G. Womack Jr. She is also preceded in death by her older sister Theresa Lynn Womack. Her biggest achievement in life was graduating from Bird High School and receiving a special education diploma. She also thoroughly enjoyed going to the day program and mentioned going even when she wasn't going anymore. She had a very structured lifestyle and that's the way she liked it, and no other way was accepted. Melissa was cared for her entire life by her loving devoted parents with the help of a few others. Her mother said, “I will surely miss her chatterbox and my heart aches for Melissa, but God knows best.” Amen to that! Her mother's dedication to her child is an understatement here. Melissa depended on her and she never failed her. No matter the time or day she always put Melissa before herself, and Melissa knew that undying love. Her mother also said, “she loved her daddy the most and he spoiled her rotten,” and she absolutely loved those unlimited backrubs from him. The two people that she adored the most outside of her parents were her Aunt Sherry and Markisha. Their regular visits in her life made her feel safe and loved when her mother had errands or “a date.” The unconditional love that was given to Melissa showed in the love that she showed everyone who came to visit her. She was undeniably a people person and definitely the “life of the party” because every time people would visit in her mind it was a party. In her excitement with family and friends visiting she would even break out a bebop holding her hand like a microphone. Telling everyone that she loved them and when we returned the gesture and told her we love her back she almost always asked, why? She surely could make the room laugh with her silly sense of humor. The enjoyment she had with visitors is unexplainable. She would even get over excited so her mother wouldn't tell her she was having visitors because she would ask every couple of minutes when they were coming, even if it was a week away! When they unexpectedly showed up, she would say “MOMMA YOU SURPRISE ME.” The next best thing in her life was food. This sweet girl was ready to eat on time for every meal and snack! She was never late for that! She surely was grateful for spaghetti, and chicken nuggets from McDonald's! She also enjoyed lunch dates and loved for anyone to sit and have a meal or snack with her. Now as our days here on earth continue without her our Father in heaven has a special place with him and all of the loved ones we have lost over time. God could see what we could not and called her home to him. We are blessed to have shared all of these precious moments with her and cannot wait to see her again in heaven. She will be missed more than anything but never forgotten and we will continue to share our memories of her until our savior calls us home one day too. Surely to have a smile in any conversations we share with her because she just made you smile!
