Mildred Kathleen Hawks, 83, of Colonial Heights died Friday, April 25, 2008. She was born September 18, 1924 in Petersburg to the late Walter R. and Rena Pope Johnson. She was the widow of Lloyd Guy Hawks and William Bernard Traylor, Jr., and was preceded in death by a brother, Reuben A. (Buck) Johnson and a sister, Erlene J. Inge. Mrs. Hawks was a member of Swift Creek Baptist Church, and retired from Civil Service at Fort Lee after 36 years. She is survived by two daughters, Rose Marie (Jerry) Clevenger of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Mary Ann (Bob) Vick of Jetersville, Virginia; three grandchildren, Kim (Scott) Arrowood of Charlotte, North Carolina, Kevin (Tiffany) Biggs of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Jamie Miller of Colonial Heights; three great-grandchildren, Lauryn & Katelyn Biggs, and Jordyn Arrowood; several step-grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2008 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Dr. Steve Felker officiating. Interment Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
