Myrtis Rhodes

Myrtis Hood Rhodes, 96, of Colonial Heights, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 26, 2022.  She was born January 17, 1926, in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Frank and Ethel J. Hood.  She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Melvin Rhodes, two sisters, Louise Scott and Frankie Mae Stroud. Ms. Rhodes was a longtime member of Lakemont Baptist Church in Petersburg. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Rhodes Moody (Robert), sons, Melvin “Pete” Rhodes (Sheryl), Frank Harry Rhodes (Sandra), Charlie Steven Rhodes, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one sister Jeanette Carwile and numerous nieces and nephews.  A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2022, in Southlawn Memorial Park 1911 Birdsong Road S.
