Her CB handle was "The Champagne Lady."

But to her eight grandchildren she was just Nanny. She gave Sam and I our red hair and curls. She loved bingo and cards. She hosted large Halloween parties and every year after Thanksgiving she would decorate the house for Christmas, singing carols as she went along. And, of course, she liked champagned so much that she said she could drink it for breakfast. She subscribed to her local newspaper for decades, reading it each morning. She even submitted poems to the paper. An aneurysm took away her short-term memory about 24 years ago, but somehow shew as always remembered I was a journalist. And she never forgot her children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren. We will miss her.
