Norman Richard McIntyre, 93, of Prince George, VA went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 10, 2025. Born in Shelbyville, Indiana, he was the son of the late Oral and Lelia McIntyre.

Norman proudly served in the United States Army as a Korean War veteran. During his military service, he was assigned to the 594th Transportation Group and the 99th Field Artillery Battalion. His assignments took him to Japan, then to Headquarters USA Port Area in La Rochelle, France, and later to Zweibrücken, Germany.

Following his honorable military career, Norman continued his dedication to service as a civilian. He retired in 1987 from the U.S. Army Logistics Center at Fort Lee, Virginia, after 35 years of devoted work as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist. He also retired from Computer Sciences Corporation, where he remained actively involved in causes close to his heart. While there, he served as the Tournament Director for the Children’s Miracle Network Golf Tournament. Norman was also a proud member of the American Legion and remained deeply connected to the veteran community throughout his life.

In his earlier years, Norman had a passion for car racing. He was a lifelong lover of music, a tennis enthusiast, and an avid golfer.

Norman was deeply loved and respected by all who knew him. He cherished his family and was an extraordinary husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His warmth, sense of humor, and affectionate spirit will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Solange J. McIntyre; daughters, Karine Parker and husband, Kenny, Darlene Rowsey and husband, Gary; grandchildren, Craig Rowsey and wife, Amanda, Kristen Rowsey, Reanna, Joey Burruss and wife, Emily; great-grandchildren, Logan and Riley Rowsey, Aiden Carlson brothers, Larry McIntyre of Florida, Harold McIntyre of Indiana; sisters, Rita Simmonds, Sharon Westerfeld, Brenda Dwenger of Indiana; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Entombment will be private in Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, S. Prince George, Virginia 23805. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to the Children’s Miracle Network. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805.
