Palmira Berti

Palmira,“Pam” Berti, 96, lately of Colonial Heights, VA, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022. The family wishes to thank the staff of Dinwiddie Health and Rehab Center and James River Hospice for their kind and gentle care in her final days. Palmira was born on Staten Island, New York, in 1925 to Mary and Peter Lucioli, the eldest of their two daughters. She attended St. John Villa Academy on Staten Island, where she lived most of her life. Pam married the love of her life, Enrico “Rico” Berti. They were happily married 38 years, spending many happy summer hours together at the New Jersey Shore. Pam loved the beach, birdwatching, gardening, and musical theater. She and Rico were blessed with two children, John, and Mary Ellen. Palmira is survived by her son John (Shareene); her grandchildren Peter (Becky) and Matthew; her great-grandchildren, Ellie and Jack; and her much beloved nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Caroline, her husband Enrico, and their daughter Mary Ellen. She will be dearly missed and remembered with love. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 151 W. Washington St. Petersburg, VA 23803 with Father Gino Rossi officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Va 23834.
