Pansy Jarvis

Pansy Renn Jarvis, 97, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2008 at the Colonial Heights Health Care Center. She was born in Maxton, North Carolina on October 20, 1910 to the late Guilford G. and Willie Della Matthews Renn. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Clay B. (Monk) Jarvis, Sr.; brothers, Marshall and Ollie Renn; sisters, Violet Rawlings, Dorothy Hutchinson. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She worked for Titmus Optical Company before becoming a homemaker. Mrs. Jarvis is survived by her children, Clay B. (Pat) Jarvis, Jr. (Shelby) of Colonial Heights, Ollie Renn Jarvis (Kathy) of Buxton, North Carolina, Della J. Hathaway (Gene) of Petersburg; her grandchildren, Laurie Ann Foster (Willie), David Jarvis (Kim), Brian Jarvis (Susan), Tara Dove, Kristen Jarvis, Caroline Jarvis, Jeffrey Hathaway, Dana Young (Henry); great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Matheny (Elaine), Billy Matheny (Melissa), Christopher Jarvis, Brandon and Owen Jarvis, Gena Hathaway, and Laci Mae Young; great-great-grandson, Jeffrey Clay Matheny; nephews, Douglas A. (Buddy) Rawlings, Jr. and Bruce Hutchinson; nieces, Joan Spencer and Doris Ann Simpson. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George with the Rev. Kevin P. Roscher, Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
