Peggy Ann Akins, 79, of Arcadia, Florida, formerly of Prince George County, went peacefully to be with the Lord in Heaven on Thursday, June 29, 2023.
Born January 31, 1944, she was the daughter of the late David Linwood Warren, Sr. and Dorothy Hawks Carter, and was also preceded in death by her brothers, David Linwood Warren, Jr., Thomas Earl Carter and Gary Lee Carter.
Peggy, an exceptionally dedicated wife, poured her heart and soul into both nurturing her marriage and diligently establishing a thriving landscaping enterprise alongside her beloved husband. Not only was she a skilled seamstress, but her passion for creating a warm and inviting home showcased her exceptional homemaking abilities. Beyond her remarkable talents, Peggy's unwavering faith in the Lord fueled her every action, driving her to embody a spirit of generosity and selflessness. Throughout the entirety of her life, she wholeheartedly served the Lord, leaving an indelible impact through her unwavering devotion and benevolent nature.
She was married to her childhood sweetheart, Richard Thomas Akins for 62 cherished years and is also survived by her three children, Cheryl Akins, Robin Gutierrez, and Michael Akins; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2023 in Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, S. Prince George, VA 23805. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Peggy’s name to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, New York 10016-5337.
