Peggy Elizabeth Bishop, 73, beloved sister loving aunt, and friend to many passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022, as the angels welcomed her into Heaven with open arms. Born July 23, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Mildred Bishop, and was also preceded in death by her sister, Anne.
A lifelong resident of Colonial Heights, Peggy retired as a computer programmer from Fort Lee after many years of dedicated service. She then took a job with Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation, ensuring that generations of children had fun and enriching summer camp activities before fully retiring after a few years.
She is survived by her brothers, John (Becky) of Chester, VA, Floyd, Jr. aka Buddy of Newbergh, IN; sister, Patricia (Leonard) of Poplar Bluff, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour before the graveside service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Peggy’s memory. “You fought bravely. We watched your fight and you will be forever in our hearts. Your suffering will no longer be, as God has given you eternal rest from your pain.” – your loving family.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
