Raul Lopez, Jr., 74, of Chester passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Born August 13, 1952, he was the son of the late Sarah Virginia Reyes and Raul Lopez.

Raul was a dedicated member of Faith Baptist Church. He spent his professional career working as a skilled machinist at S.P. Kinney until his retirement. Always one to stay active and involved, he later worked for the American Legion and the Eagles Club, proudly maintaining his membership in both organizations. Outside of work and his community commitments, Raul could often be found outdoors, finding great peace and joy in fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife, Esther Lopez; his daughter, Ashley Lopez; and his cherished granddaughters, Layla and Myla Lopez-Stone; sister, Yvette Talbert, and her husband, Albert; his brother, Junior Hernandez, and his wife, Aurora; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles who will miss him dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Faith Baptist Church, 1226 W Roslyn Rd, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. Interment will be private. Online condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com
