Ray Wilson Martin

Ray Wilson Martin, 90, of Petersburg passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024. Born June 16, 1933, he was the son of the late Grover Clevland and Eva Elizabeth Smith Martin and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Crawford Martin, James Harold Martin, Edward Franklin Martin; sisters, Mary Eloise Martin, Francis Lee Martin, Erma Christine Martin, and Doris Elizabeth Martin; daughter, Eva Elizabeth Martin; son, Dwayne Allen Martin; ex-wives, Nancy Hough Coggin, Patricia Vest Martin, and Joan Baker Short.

Ray was a retired Navy veteran who served in the Korean War. He also retired from Phillip Morris and received an AA degree from Wingate Baptist College. He also attended East Carolina University. He loved music and playing the harmonica. Ray loved to garden, go on rides in the country, and listen to it rain during a good storm.

He is survived by his sons, Edward Ray Martin, and Craig Allen Martin, and granddaughter, Chloe Paige Smith Martin.
