Raymond Earl "Buck" Penner, 95, of Colonial Heights, passed away Monday, October 24, 2016. He was born June 20, 1921 to the late Charles Raymond and Lela Pearl Long Penner, and was the widower of Elizabeth M. Penner. Mr. Penner was a W.W.II., European Theater, United States Army Veteran. He retired as an Electrician from Park 500 Phillip Moriss. Mr. Penner was a member of the American Legion Post 284, the Masonic Lodge Queen City Lodge No 131 and the Cumberland, Maryland AF&AM, and the Loyal Order of the Moose in Hopewell. He is survived by his son, Charles Raymond Penner and wife, Donna Ferry, of Chester; daughter, Terri Hailey of Chesterfield; six grandchildren, Eric Penner and wife, Heather, Brittany Angle and husband, Chad, Andrew Penner and wife, Kristen, Patrick Hailey, Tyler Hailey, Nathan Hailey; three great-grandchildren; and a devoted friend Pearl McGill of Colonial Heights. The family would like to thank the staff of Media- Home Hospice for their care and compassion to Mr. Penner and his family during his time with them. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2016 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park Enon, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
