Robert Gerard “Goose” Younglove, 67, of Disputanta, VA, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025. 

“To my darling husband, best friend, and love of my life, I am thinking of you all the rest of my life. With all the love I possess! Love, Liz.”

Born in Plattsville, New York on July 20, 1958, he was the son of the late Charles M. Younglove and Mary L. Younglove. Bob grew up in a proud military family, with his father honorably serving in the United States Air Force for 26 years. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Mark Younglove and Charles M. “Chuck” Younglove; and his mother-in-law, Frances “Ingram” Quinn.

Bob had an outstanding 28-and-a-half-year career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, where his dedication, leadership, and service earned him numerous awards and promotions. At the time of his retirement in 2015, he proudly served as the Emergency Preparedness Liaison for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, FCC Petersburg, as well as the Prince George Emergency Response Force.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Elizabeth A. “Liz” Younglove; his daughters, Lindsey K. Younglove and Lauren H. Younglove; sons, Robert G. “Bobby” Younglove, Jr. and Michael T. Younglove; his sister, Laura Hamby Younglove; and his brothers, Gregg Younglove and Paul Younglove.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834.
