Robert Lawrence Carter, 83, of Petersburg passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before beginning a dedicated 33-year career with the United States Postal Service, where he worked until his retirement.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Martin Biggers; sons, Gary Mathias and Robbie Carter; grandchildren, Anna Mathias Hannon (Dylon), Grant Mathias (Vaselea), and Thomas Carter; and other extended family members.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025 in Hebron Church Cemetery, 111 Hebron Road, Saxe, Virginia 23967. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805.
