Robert James Bishop

Robert James Bishop, 84, of Hopewell, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023. Born in Hopewell on February 10, 1939, he was the son of the late Edward Glenn Bishop and Mary Ethel Lantz Bishop.

Robert retired from Honeywell as a Lab Technician after dedicating 38 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hopewell, VA. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley W. Bishop; his sisters, Glenda B. Barefoot, and Sandra B. Grigsby (Wayne); and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2023, in Southlawn Memorial Park’s Mausoleum, 1911 Birdsong Road S. Prince George, Virginia 23805. Arrangements are by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 636 Hopewell, Virginia 23860, or to your favorite charity.
