Ronald Wood

Ronald Wayne “Captain” Wood, 66, of South Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 13, 2021. Born on October 30, 1955, in Richmond, Virginia, he was the son of the late Betty Hazel Wood, and was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Tom Daniel.

Ronald attended Western Heights Baptist Church, where he enjoyed serving his community. Most of all the Captain loved his boats. He was a generous, caring family man, and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Ronald didn’t meet a stranger but would talk with anyone, always being sure they knew the Lord.

He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Wanda Wood; children, April Johnson (Keith), Ronald “Jake” Wood (Kalah), Brian Headrick (Martie), Telia Adona (Rico), and Miles Headrick; grandchildren, Mark, Zachery, Malachi, Landon, Thane, Harper, Mason, and Olivia; sister, Jean Daniel; niece, Lauren Daniel; nephews, Sean Fretwell and Donnie Fretwell; and dog, Gracie.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 19, 2021 at the Colonial Heights Chapel, of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Interment will be held at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Richmond. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. Thursday November 18, 2021 at the funeral home.
