Rose Marek Blevins

Rose Marek Blevins, 95, formerly of Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away Friday, November 15, 2024. Born August 3, 1929, in Hemphill, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Andy Marek and Nettie Marek. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Joey Marek, Frank Marek, Maude Watkins, Darlene Marek, and Mary Bell Marek Vincelle. 

Rose retired from the Defense Commissary Agency at Fort Lee, now known as Fort Gregg Adams.

She found solace in the simple moments of life. She loved dancing, which brought her happiness and a sense of freedom throughout her life. Her passion for gardening showcased her nurturing spirit as she transformed her surroundings with colorful blooms and thriving greenery.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Brenda Lastauckas, and her husband, James; her son, Robert Harold Blevins II, and his wife, Toni; and her grandchildren, Terry Blevins and Robert Harold Blevins III, along with his wife, Reza.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2024, in Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, Petersburg, VA 23805.
