Rose Blaha O’Steen, formerly of Dinwiddie, Virginia and a resident of Colonial Heights, Virginia for the past 30 years, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Rose was born in Dinwiddie, Virginia, to the late Adolph Frank “Eddie” Blaha Sr. and Virginia Southall Blaha. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas L. She remained deeply connected to her roots while building a life in Colonial Heights, where she lived for the past three decades.
Throughout her career, Rose worked in retail sales, where her warm nature and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on those she served. Above all, Rose was a woman devoted to her family and her faith, which remained the anchors of her life.
Rose and Tom shared a deep love of travel and adventure, spending much of their retirement exploring the world on cruises and creating lasting memories through their many journeys together. The two also enjoyed a shared passion for golf, a pastime that brought them joy and kept them close throughout their retirement years.
She is survived by her four children: Randolph Thomas Sr. (Kathy), Rosemary O’Steen, Carl Thomas Sr. (Donna), and Donald Thomas (Robert); her stepchildren, Wilda “Tink” Norwood (Dwight) and Dan O’Steen (Christie); her siblings: Virginia Wharton, Bertha Glass, Catherine Bishop, Lawrence Blaha (Evelyn), Margaret Boerner (Wess), Adell Jackson (Warren), and Agnes Smith; as well as her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom were a cherished part of her life. She also leaves behind extended family and loved ones who will continue to carry her memory forward.
Rose touched the lives of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose life she graced with her love and devotion.
