Roy Benjamin Coleman, 89, of Colonial Heights, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025. He was born September 21, 1935, to the late Leonard and Gertie Coleman. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Linda Wootten Coleman; son, Leonard “Bubba” Blevins; sister, Lillian Coleman; and brother, John “Shacky” Coleman.
For more than 30 years, Roy worked for VDOT, where he was known for his dedication and hard work. He loved being outdoors, building and creating with his hands, and always had a project going. He enjoyed the simple things in life — a hot cup of coffee, watching birds and squirrels in the yard, and walking through Home Depot or Lowe’s dreaming up his next idea. He had a kind heart, always willing to help anyone in need, and made friends everywhere he went.
Roy is survived by his daughter, Tamela Michele Coleman; brother, James “Money” Coleman; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, 23834, with Pastor Jonathan Dundalow officiating.
