Roy Ferry

Roy John Ferry, 82, of Colonial Heights, joined his wife Shirley Heflin Ferry in an eternal heavenly honeymoon on Sunday, December 28, 2014. He was the son of the late Charles and Florence Korn Ferry. Mr. Ferry attended Duke University and completed his degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. He retired from Reynolds Metal as a Production Systems Analyst. Mr. Ferry openly enjoyed life which included, walking his daughters down the aisle, attending UVA football games with his sons, never missing a family birthday, movies and travel. His excitement, laughter, storytelling, and joy will be greatly missed by many and will be carried in the hearts of all those who knew him. He is survived by two sons, David R. Ferry, DDS and wife, Julie of Chester, Danny T. Ferry and wife, Kimberlee of South Chesterfield; three daughters, Gail F. Wilson and husband, George of Chesterfield, Linda F. McGill and husband Charles of South Chesterfield, Donna F. Penner and husband Charles of Chester; twelve grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Rev. Dr. Donald Steele officiating. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 3-4:30 p.m. Sunday, January 4. 2015 at the funeral home.
