Ruth Elizabeth Punday, 97, of Colonial Heights, VA, currently in Colorado Springs, CO, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023. She was born in Mannheim Germany on August 26th, 1926.
Ruth was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and worked for many years as the Assistant Manager of the America House (Restaurant/Hotel) in Petersburg, VA. She was an esteemed member of the German Club and served as President of the local Chapter for several years. In her senior years, she found joy in the company of friends, particularly social gathering at her home and by the pool in the summer. Her beloved dog, Bear, was a cherished companion during her last years. Her hobbies included going to the gym, oil painting, and knitting.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Andrew F Punday; her parents, Eva Hartmann Reibold and Philip Reibold; and her brother, Werner Reibold of Mannheim, Germany.
She was survived by her children and family; son, Robert (Bob) F. Punday; daughter-in-law, Peggy Punday; daughter, Diane Punday Marconi and son-in-law, Ivo Marconi; granddaughter, Victoria Marconi; son, Bruce M. Punday; step granddaughters, Rachel Sprecher Wallace and Sarah Sprecher Callaway; and her daughter, Nicole Punday.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18th, 2023 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. A memorial service will be conducted by Richard Malone immediately following the family visitation at the funeral home.
