Stanley William Deloach, Jr., 66, passed away on March 27, 2026. He was born on May 16, 1959.

William was a graduate of Liberty University and devoted much of his life to education. He had a natural passion for teaching and took pride in sharing knowledge with others, both in the classroom and in everyday conversations. He had a deep interest in history, reading, and politics, and had a knack for turning even the simplest of questions into thoughtful, elaborate responses.

A proud and supportive parent, William encouraged his children in their interests and passions, always celebrating their accomplishments and cheering them on in the things that mattered most to them.

A believer in Christ, William’s faith was an important part of his life and shaped his perspective over the years.

He is survived by his stepmother, Geraldine Shirley Rumley; his brother, Marc Deloach and wife Tina; his sister, Cathy Dayton; his children, Zach, Matt, and Hannah; his three nephews, Rane, Samuel, and Preston; and his five grandchildren.

William will be remembered for his love of learning, his thoughtful and expansive approach to life, and the many conversations and moments—big and small—that made up his life. He leaves behind a legacy carried forward in the lives he touched.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Crater View Baptist Church, 626 Graham Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805. Interment will take place privately in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia. Arrangements are by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
