Sylvia Sullivan Howlett, 86, of South Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025. Born in Dahlgren, Virginia on January 25, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Carl Duke Sullivan and Dorothy Thomas Sullivan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Eugene Howlett, Sr.; previous husband, Master Mason Cloyd Morris Rush; and her sister, Sharon S. Whitten.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura Lamm (Don); son, Lee M. Rush (Regina); grandsons, Corey Lamm (Shawna), Brandon Rush, and Alec Rush; granddaughters, Mindy Compton (Jerry, III.), Bree Roberts (Chris), and Skylar Rush; and great-grandchildren, Ayden Lamm, John Lamm, Jerry Compton, IV., and Luca Roberts.

Sylvia was a devoted member of West End Baptist Church in Dinwiddie and was also a proud member of the Eastern Star, Huntsville, AL Chapter. She worked for the State Department of Transportation in the secretarial department. In her free time, Sylvia enjoyed sewing, gardening, and needle crafting. She also had a deep love for dogs and cats.

Interment will be private. Arrangements are by the Crater Road Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 3935 S Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805.
