Teresa Ann (Deffely) McKay, 65, of Petersburg, VA, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Born in Norfolk, VA on September 30, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Joseph James Deffely, Jr. and Barbara Jean (Adams) Deffely. She was also preceded in death by her brother, William. Teresa and her daughter, Samantha McKay Scarlett, age 44, passed away suddenly on December 9, 2025. Family and loved ones will miss them both dearly.

She is survived by her brothers, James (Regina), Michael (Teresa), Paul (Iris), and Robert.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834.
