Thelma Grogan

Thelma Jean Edwards Grogan, 73, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Kindred Hospital in Richmond. Mrs. Grogan was born in Covington, Virginia on March 3, 1940 to the late Gordon J and Minnie Elizabeth Edwards. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Joseph Grogan Jr.; a daughter, Dorothy Jean Grogan; a sister, Dorothy Johnson; four brothers, Walter Smith, Carl Smith, Albert Smith and Belamos Eugene Edwards. She resided in Colonial Heights for 40 years. She is survived by two sons, Bobby Lee Grogan of Ettrick and Hugh Joseph Grogan III of Colonial Heights; a daughter, Delores Ann Perkinson of Colonial Heights; a brother-in-law, Billy Grogan of Farmville; grandchildren, Angela Webster, Dawn Cherry, Christina Compton, Jessica Francis, Samantha Marshall, Sky Grogan, Bobby Grogan Jr., Shelly Grogan and Joseph Grogan; 7 great-grandchildren and one on the way; a brother, Russell Edwards; and two sisters, Cleo Cash and Jeannie Jerman all of Covington. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend David Prather officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg.
