Therese Michelle Smith

Therese Michelle Smith, 59, of Colonial Heights, passed away on February 1, 2024. Born May 9, 1964, she was the daughter of Lola Howell Haley and the late Wirt Henry Haley III. Therese was preceded in death by her partner of 30 years, Earl Carter; and niece, Ashley Ryan.  She was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, always cheering them on with unmatched enthusiasm. Therese's humor and quick wit lit up any room, and her positive outlook on life brought joy to all who knew her. Family meant everything to Therese, especially her cherished grandchildren. She created countless happy memories with them, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. In her leisure time, she found comfort in watching TV, with her favorite movie being "The Sweetest Thing." She is survived by her children, Candice Brooke Rose (Leah Johnson), Daniel Wesley Rose II; sister, Tammy Haley; three grandchildren; Nicholas Henry Wright, Ryker Wesley Rose, and Westin Lee Holton; and numerous other extended family members. Interment will be private. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
