Thomas Dale Beckner

Thomas Dale Beckner, 68, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025. Born June 19, 1956, he was the son of the late Anne Turner Dennis. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Steven Turner; sister, Katherine Jones; and stepbrother, Rodney Dennis.

Thomas served in the Army from 1975 to 1979. Afterwards, he worked for various concrete companies over the years as a foreman before retiring. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also spent thousands of hours on his motorcycle, riding just for the love of the road and the freedom it gave him. It was one of his greatest joys. But more than anything, he loved his family. He would do anything for them, always putting them first and showing up when it mattered.

Thomas is survived by his son, Travis Beckner (Terri Handschumacher); father, Curtis Dennis; granddaughter, Morgan Beckner; brother, Darrin “Spud” Bishop; brother-in-law, Wayne Jones; step-sisters, Cheryl Dennis and Donna Baron; sister-in-law, Cynthia Turner; nephews, Mark Porter, Brad Price, Derrick Dennis, Jason Turner, Chap Dennis, and Wes Muto; nieces, Ashley Allen, Stephanie Baron, Kim Pacheco, Amanda Taylor, and Crystal Ashley-Bryant.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834.
