Timmy Stevin Herald, 65, of Disputanta, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026. Born in Virginia on February 2, 1961, he was the son of the late Hubert Preston Herald and Nancy Carol Brown. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Mary Lou Herald.

After high school, Timmy went on to join the United States Army, and served for a brief period of time. He spent his career with Dominion Energy, dedicating 38 years to the company. He began as a groundsman, later became a lineman serving various areas, and ultimately served as a district supervisor before retiring.

Timmy was a simple man who lived a simple life, finding joy in the things he loved most. He enjoyed fishing, restoring old cars, watching NASCAR, and spending time outdoors working on various projects. He especially loved going to the beach, swimming in the pool, and camping in his motor home. Timmy was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and cherished his cats, Daisie and Pixie. He also never turned down a good bowl of ice cream. Most of all, he enjoyed the simple moments spent with his family and doing the things that made him happy.

He is survived by his loving wife and companion of 20 years, Mary Herald; his children, Shannon Herald, Lindsey Baldwin, Jennifer Carper (Jeff), and Chip Sutherland (Kaitlyn); grandchildren, Patrick, Stevin, Logan, Haley, Anna, and Nash; siblings, Sherry Harris (Al), Pam Pekrun (Kenny), and Danny Herald (Debbie); extended family, Donald Clements and Faye Linkous (Tim); and numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Per Timmy’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Arrangements are by the Crater Road Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S Crater Rd, Petersburg, VA.
