Ursula
Bennett
Jun 17, 1934 — May 10, 2026
Colonial Heights
Monday
City Point Cemetery National Cemetery
Starts at 11:00 am (Eastern time)
Ursula Bennett, who was just shy of her 92nd birthday, passed away peacefully on Mother's Day, a fitting and beautiful tribute to a woman whose life was so deeply defined by love, family, and caring for others. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. Ursula leaves behind her beloved son, Arthur C Bennett I and his wife, Joy L. Bennett, and beloved daughter, Jennifer L. Augelli. She was a cherished grandmother to Elizabeth L. Augelli, Victoria A. Bennett, Isabel J. Bennett, and Sophie G. Bennett. Her love and presence will remain a lasting part of each of our lives. Ursula was a kind and generous woman who believed wholeheartedly in love, compassion, and kindness. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel heard and cared for. She always made the time to be there for anyone who needed her. Giving of herself came naturally to Ursula. Throughout her life, she devoted countless hours to volunteer work and to helping others. She gave her time, her attention, her compassion, and, most importantly, her heart. She believed that everyone deserved to be treated with kindness and dignity, no matter where they came from or what they believed in. Ultimate moral judgment and final condemnation belong exclusively to God and she lived those values every day of her life.
Ursula will be remembered not only for the years she lived, but for the countless lives she touched along the way. Her generosity, patience, compassion, and willingness to always be there for others were gifts that she gave freely and without expectation. Though she will be deeply missed, Ursula leaves behind a beautiful legacy: the reminder that love matters, kindness matters, and simply being there for someone can make all the difference in the world. On Mother's Day, we said goodbye to a remarkable mother, grandmother, and friend. There could hardly have been a more fitting day to honor a woman who spent her life-giving love to others. May she rest peacefully, surrounded forever by the love she gave so generously to everyone around her. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Lt. Colonel Arthur C. Bennett Il and her daughter, Barbara Christine Bennett. A graveside service will be held Monday, October 19, 2026 at 11:00 AM City Point Cemetery National Cemetery 10th Avenue and Davis Street Hopewell, Virginia 23860. The Funeral reception will be held at: 3231 Longhorn Dr., Colonial Heights Virginia 23834 after service, if possible, please bring a dish for the reception. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
