Vermadel Burke Redford, 86, of Colonial Heights passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Norfolk, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Lula Waldrop Burke. Mrs. Redford was a member of the Ettrick United Methodist Church, where she played the organ and piano for many years. She was a retired Secretary with Fort Lee Civil Service. Mrs. Redford is survived by her husband of 69 years, Wallace A. Redford; two daughters, Linda Redford Steger (Herbert) of Huntsville, Alabama and Susan Jane Redford of Colonial Heights; granddaughters, Claire Steger Renner (Danny) and Catherine Steger Castle (James) all of Toney, Alabama, Jennifer Wells Schott of Colonial Heights and Brandy Wells Damron (Steve) of Prince George County; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Robert Lamb and the Reverend James Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ettrick United Methodist Church, P.O.
