Vickie L. Thornton Jenkins, 75, of N. Dinwiddie, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Southside Medical Center in Petersburg. Born in Iowa City, Iowa, Vickie was the daughter of the late Kenneth A. Thornton and Eleanor Mae Allensworth Thornton. She is a proud alumnus of Truman State University. g

Vickie was known throughout the Tri-Cities area for her dedication to charitable work and her generous heart.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Richard G. Jenkins; her two sons, Kenneth C. Jenkins and his wife, Lindsay, and Richard Andrew Jenkins and his wife, Mindy; her grandchildren, Rachael Bagby, Dylan C. Jenkins, and Brooke Lynn Jenkins; her great-granddaughter, Carter Rae Bagby; and her sister, Cheryl Manlove.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2026 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Interment will be Private. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
