Viola Gibbs Wells, 94, of Carson, VA went home to the Lord on August 31, 2026. She was a lifetime member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church. She was the late daughter of Samuel Clifton Gibbs and Ella Mae Brickhouse Gibbs. She was preceded in death by loving husband, William Lee Wells Sr. She was the last surviving of seven children.

She is survived by her sons, William Lee Wells Jr. (Betty Cowling Wells) of Ivor, James Thomas Wells of Carson, her grandchildren, Denise Wilkes, William Bradley Wells, James Thomas Wells Jr., Anna Marie Butler, eight great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Viola was proud of her work at Kings BBQ in Colonial Heights and later found her calling as a CNA in home health care. She also enjoyed her time in the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and loved caring for her flowers in her garden.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 18027 Malones Road, Carson, Virginia 23830.
