The most gentle soul, Wesley William Harris Jr., “Bubba,” 78 of Colonial Heights, passed away on June 14, 2026, at Southside Medical Center. He was the son of the late Wesley William Harris Sr. and Helen Redman Harris and was preceded in death by a niece, Renee Thompson Dove. He loved playing cards and watching his favorite baseball team, the New York Mets.

Wesley is survived by his sister, Rosemary Harris; nephew, Robert L. Harris Jr. and his wife, Danielle; niece, Rhonda Thompson Reynolds and her husband, Rob; nephew, Russell Edward Thompson and his wife, Ute; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg, Virginia, with the Reverend Kyle Montgomery officiating. The family will receive friends Friday June 19, 2026, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
