Willene Rideout Simmons

January 10, 1933 - January 19, 2025

Willene Rideout Simmons, 92, passed away on Sunday January 19, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents Allen and Nannie Lee Rideout, and sister Nancy Elder.

She was a member of Gary’s United Methodist Church.

Willene was a loving, caring wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Mitchell C. Simmons, Jr.; two daughters, Michele Harris and her husband Johnny, Denise Aleksa and her husband Jeff; four grandchildren, Brian Harris, Kevin Harris and his wife Korrina, Corey Aleksa, Gracie Aleksa; great granddaughter, Reagan Harris; two brothers-in-law, Lennie Elder and William Simmons; one sister-in-law, Frances Scarbrough and her husband Lee.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, in the Crater Road chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home 3935 South Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805.
