Wilma Lorraine Pruett

Wilma Lorraine Sheets Pruett peacefully passed into God’s glorious kingdom on September 3, 2023, just one day before her 92^nd year. Wilma, affectionately known as “Teada” by her family and friends, was born September 4, 1931, in Coretta, WV, the third of nine children to Henry Clifford and Nettie Arizona Sheets. She taught school in West Virginia and Ohio upon completion of higher education classes at Concord University, Athens, WV; West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV, and The College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA. Wilma loved helping others, but in her spare time enjoyed gardening, planting beautiful flowers, reading, and doing bead work.  Wilma is predeceased by her husband Charles (Bud) Pruett, Jr. and son David Byron Pruett, as well as brothers Jerry, Wayne, Henry Clifford, Jr., and Larry, all with the Sheets surname. She is survived by one brother Pat C. Sheets and three sisters: Vera Thomas (Sheets), Beverly Goodwin (Sheets), and Sue Lenski (Sheets). Wilma also leaves behind many loving friends, nephews, and nieces. Special thanks to her “angels on earth,” niece and great-niece Mrs. Lisa Luck (Sheets) and Rachel Luck, both of Louisa, VA, who devotedly cared for her during her decline in health; longtime neighbor and friend Exxie “Small” Coleman of Chesterfield, who selflessly served the Pruett family for years, and a special thanks to Hospice of Virginia for there wonderful care.  A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia 10300 Pridesville Rd, Amelia Court House, Virginia. 23002.  The family will receive friends Monday, September 11, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project (WWP): woundedwarriorproject.org.
