Wirt H. Hailey III

Wirt Henry “Pete” Hailey III., 77 of Colonial Heights, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 3, 2023. He was born September 30 1945 to the late Wirt H. Hailey Jr., and Violet Biggers Hailey. Pete was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ashely Lynn Hailey, and a brother, Gerald Hailey.  He was a longtime member of Swift Creek Baptist Church in Colonial Heights and retired Electrical Supervisor form Philip Morris.  Pete is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Lola Howell Hailey of Colonial Heights, two daughters, Terri Smith of Prince George, Tammy Hailey of Colonial Heights, six grandchildren, Candice, Danny, Brandon, Justin, Jordan, Timmy nine great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Kayla, Melanie, Emma, Michelle, Ryker, Wyatt, Sylar, Emerson, three brothers William Floyd Hailey, John Vance Hailey, Robert Hailey all of Richmond, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, family asks that contributions be made to Swift Creek Baptist Church 18510 Branders Bridge Road, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.  All services will be private. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
