Barbara Meloy

Barbara Elaine (Stoeckert) Meloy, 79, of Colonial Heights, formerly of Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 13, 2021, surrounded by her children.  Barbara was the daughter of the late Christian and Eva (Feger) Stoeckert, Jetersville, VA. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Stoeckert and sisters Ruth Stoeckert and Joan (Stoeckert) Eure.  Barbara retired from the Department of Corrections with over 25 years of service. She enjoyed attending church, reading, gardening and spending time with her family and two cats, Susie and Tillie.  Barbara knew where she was going and is there now with her parents, siblings, and God - she is at peace. And that peace she would want to spread to her family, through the peace Christ has given her. Left to honor and cherish Barbara’s memory are her three sons, Dave Meloy (Connie), Tim Meloy (Kim) and Paul Meloy (Alayna); daughter, Laura Meloy (Mike); 13 grandchildren, Christopher Meloy, Chad Hughes, Tawni Meloy, Ryan Meloy , Brandon Hughes, Kimberly Meloy-Comer, Timmy Meloy, Ashley Ralls, Nicky Meloy, Jimmy Meloy, Carleigh Marshall, Skyler Meloy and Aaralynne Meloy; seven great-grandchildren, Halie Meloy, Cassidy Meloy, Harper Meloy-Comer, Aiden Ralls, McKenzie Meloy, Nathan Ralls and Kamden Meloy-Comer; brother, Chris Stoeckert; and sister Mary Stevens. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church, 17111 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, VA 23834 on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 10:00 am with Fr. Danny Cogut as Celebrant. Interment to follow in St. Ann Catholic Church Cemetery.  Barbara will rest from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2021 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
