Debra Smith

Debra Bradley Smith, 64, of Church Road, Virginia passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022. Born April 24, 1957, she was the daughter of Alton Earl Bradley and the late Carol Kelley Bradley. She was a longtime member of Smyrna Baptist Church.

Debra enjoyed working as a substitute teacher at Northview Elementary School while her children attended. She was the president of the PTA and cherished her time as a stay-at-home mom until 2006, when she started working for Bellwood Federal Credit Union. She enjoyed reading and loved putting together family gatherings, where she always served her world-famous coleslaw. While her husband was serving in the United States Navy, Debra served as an ombudsman, which is an information link between command leadership and command families for the U.S.S. Enterprise.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 30 years, Steven Randolph Smith; children, Randy Smith and Morgan Wolfe and husband, Christopher; cherished grandchild on the way; father, Alton Earl Bradley; brother, Al Bradley Jr. and wife, Kim; two sisters, Linda Bradley and Jennifer Robinson and husband, Thomas; aunt and good friend, Penny Adams; very good friend, Diana Shoemaker and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Smyrna Baptist Church, 18971 Carson Road, Dinwiddie, VA 23841. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Thursday at church. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
