Janet Darlene Hess, 64, of Colonial Heights passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021.
For 15 years, Janet worked as a dispatcher for Petersburg Police Department and Amelia County Sheriff’s Department. When her sons were younger, she would coach their little league teams to spend as much time as she could with them. She enjoyed playing bingo and bowling, loved watching her favorite NASCAR driver, Jimmie Johnson, and her favorite football team, The Minnesota Vikings.
She is survived by her three sons, Robert D. Hess and wife, Beth A., Jason D. Hess and wife, Tracey R., Carl R. Hess and wife, Rebecca; grandchildren, Laura, Jonathan, Noelle, Erika, Jayla, Skye, Jason, Jr., Carl, Addison; great-grandson, Jaiden; parents, Douglas and Janet Vaughan; brother, Douglas Vaughan, Jr.; niece, Carlie Vaughan; and other extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will be private.
