Kathleen Porwoll

Kathleen Anne Porwoll, 74, of Colonial Heights, Virginia passed away on March 19, 2023. Kathy, the chosen child to the late Otto and Romaine Porwoll and sister to the late Richard Porwoll, was born June 14, 1948 and raised in Leonia, New Jersey. As a child and into adulthood Kathy formed friendships with many people that she carried on throughout the decades. Kathy cherished these relationships and was a most loyal friend. After graduating from high school, she attended Elizabeth Ann Seton College and acquired her associates degree. While her dreams of becoming a flight attendant never came to be, she was able to see the world as a military spouse. Her travels took her to many places to include Greece, where she first became a mother, and later to Germany where her son was born. When the chance to settle down in the US arose, she set up house in Colonial Heights, Virginia. Here Kathy raised the loves of her life, her daughter, Stephanie and son, Kristopher. She had many hobbies and interests. She was an avid reader and member of her book club, Scrabble player extraordinaire, and never turned down a good puzzle or an episode of Jeopardy. The thing that made Kathy happiest was gardening. She spent years caring for and cultivating her precious backyard garden. Strolling through her flowers while she told you the names of each one made you feel like it was just the two of you in her little heaven on earth. Kathy took her love of gardening to use by joining the local garden club. She took pride in contributing to the beautification of her community. Kathy is survived by her daughter, Stephanie, and her husband Chris, their children, Riley, Christopher and Aiden, her son Kristopher, and his wife Melissa, and their children, Tanner, Cooper and Colette. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
