Robert Ervin Hudson, Jr., 73, of DeWitt, passed away suddenly Tuesday, February 2, 2021. He was born March 3, 1947, to the late Robert Hudson, Sr. and Mary Barnette Hudson. Robert is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sue Rasmussen Hudson; three sons, Keith Robert Hudson (Julia), Justin A. Hudson, David Irvin (Noelle); two daughters, Kimberly Hudson Souders (Jerry) and Melanie Irvin; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Roland Hudson; mother-in-law, Mildred D. Galante; sister-in-law, Barb Cofield; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; many lifetime friends, especially Earl Brockwell; and his loving furry friend and companion, Scrappy. Robert served in the United States Army. He retired from Honeywell after 25 years and was a maintenance supervisor at Johnston Willis Hospital for 10 years. He was a founding member of the Poverty Hunt Club in Brunswick County and enjoyed hunting with them for more than 40 years. Robert will be missed by all who knew him. His remains will rest from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2021, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard.
