Sherry Trayer

Sherry Diane Kcraget Trayer, 62, of Dewitt, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.  She was born on November 22, 1959, in Petersburg, Virginia, to the late John and Barbara Jean Capps Kcraget. She is also preceded in death by her significant other, Barry Hill.  Sherry was very protective of those she loved, nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family and friends, entertaining especially at Christmas. She liked doing anything outdoors, she loved her little furry friends, and sitting in her chair at waters edge in the outer banks enjoying the beauty and quiet. Sherry will be missed terribly by her family and all who knew and loved her.  She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Trayer Walls; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Hill; grandchildren, Landon Walls, Corbin Farris, Colton Farris, Colin Ray Farris, Riley Farris, and Zoey Harvey; two sisters, Debbie Wolfrey (Raymond), Barbara Brooks (Jeff); brother, John Kcraget Jr., (Kim); numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Joyce Hill and Jeremiah Farris.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.  Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
