Stewart Driskill Jr.,

Stewart Phillip “Phil” Driskill Jr., 91, of Matoaca, Virginia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, August 27, 2021. Born on May 1, 1930, he was the son of the late, Stewart Phillip Driskill Sr. and Virginia Rebecca English Driskill, and was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Jean Vaughan Driskill; and a brother, Carl Grant Driskill.

Phil was one of the founding members of New Hope Baptist Church, Matoaca, and retired after many years as a General Contractor.

He is survived by two sons, Phillip Driskill III (Sharon) and Eric Driskill (Marie); four grandchildren, Bo Driskill (Dawn), Mandy Hendershott (Zak), Spencer Driskill, and Nathan Driskill (Kimberly); six great-grandchildren, Nya and Bryce Driskill, Colby and Landon Hendershott, Carson and Amberley Driskill; and sisters, Joyce Harrison and Rose Harmon; and many nieces & nephews. The family would like to give a special “thanks” to Norma Tilley, Linda Bishop, Gloria Kollmann, Doris Eanes, and Tammy Strother for the compassionate care expressed to Mr. Driskill.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at New Hope Baptist Church, 6030 Woodpecker Road, Chesterfield, Virginia 23838. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2021, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church.  Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
